School Garden Update
Yesterday was a momentous day, shared with all the children that were in school … we spotted our first peapod! On closer inspection there were quite a few ripening nicely in the sunshine. Once they fatten up we will be able to pick them and eat them … I for one can’t wait!
We also spotted our first flower on the runner beans, which are enjoying having their feet in shade and their heads in the sunshine so much that they have almost reached the top of their poles.
The children did some more planting. We put in some extra sunflowers outside the old Children’s Centre, some Calendulas in the pots at the front of the school and some Sweet Peas (popular for their scented flowers) against the fencing in the garden. The children also did an amazing job picking up all the fallen branches from the trees and adding them to the Dead Hedge.
If you have some photos of plants you have grown from seed in your garden, why not send them in to firstname.lastname@example.org.
