School Garden Update

Winter is usually a noticeably quieter time in our gardens but not so in the School Garden, which has been a hive of activity over the last few weeks!

The first thing you may have noticed is the erection of our very own wooden compost bin, created out of old wooden pallets left over from the building work during the summer.  A huge thanks must go to Mr Coe for spending some of his spare time putting this together for us.

Secondly, last week we took delivery of three new raised beds built for us by The Useful Wood Company, a Woking based charity which collects and recycles wood as well as transforming lives through skills training.  For further information on this local charity please visit their website at

Next, we took delivery of two large bags of vegetable compost and with the help of Mr Fookes and his brother, all three raised beds were filled up ready for our spring planting to commence.

None of this would have been possible without the amazing fundraising which took place last year by the Surrey Half Marathon runners and a grant from The Surrey Gardens Trust.  Thank you so much!
