Day Trips and Visits
We believe that it is incredibly important for children to consolidate their learning by visiting places of interest or by listening to people with different experiences and knowledge about specific areas. This hands on learning approach allows our children to immerse themselves in their topics and ask questions. We enrich our curriculum through a variety of visits, residentials and externally provided activities. Furthermore, we take part and host workshops and competitions for our children including events targeting SEND children and gifted and talented pupils.
As well as organised trips at educational centres and visitors, we also take our children out into the local area to explore the treasures around. In Brookwood alone, we take the children to Brookwood Cemetery and St Saviour’s Church. We also have positive relationships with the military locally.
If you have specific knowledge or expertise that links with any of our particular topics, or know of anyone that can help to enrich our children's learning experience, we would love to hear from you!
It is important for our children to experience time away from home, gaining independence and other important life skills. We begin with a school sleepover in Year 2 before residential visits for our Key Stage 2 children. These trips range from Surrey Activity Centres such as Henley Fort and Thames Young Mariners to visiting Swanage. These trips are optional, but are an incredibly valuable experience for our children.
