Fantastic Arts at Brookwood
Fantastic Arts at Brookwood (FAB) is a distinctive and inspiring arts project which has been running at Brookwood since September 2016. The project aims to deliver a wide range of memorable arts experiences, which will enrich children’s lives and raise standards of teaching, learning and creativity.
FAB Focus 2021-2022
All Brookwood children have taken part in the ‘Junk Orchestra’ Project where they will play, design, make and perform instruments made from recycled materials.
The project aimed to develop children’s confidence and creativity to encourage children to engage with music and sound making. It also aimed to enrich children’s skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths.
The Junk Orchestra gave children an opportunity to use a collection of rescued & re-invented objects. Teachers emphasised an inclusive approach, and encouraged all children to relish the opportunity to up-cycle and express themselves through art and music.
Our specialist music teachers worked with all year groups to help lead workshops for the children in exploratory learning, composition of music, designing and making their own junk orchestra and finally performing with their own junk orchestras during Raising Aspirations Week.
Our focus for 2022-23 is under development and details will be shared in due course.
