Online Safety - Parents Information

At Brookwood Primary School we work hard to make children aware of how to stay safe when they are working and playing online.  We know that this is also an important issue for parents.  Below are some ideas of websites that you may wish to explore and some useful parent guides.

thinkuknow.co.uk
This website gives a clear explanation of the risks and hazards that children may face while working and playing online and while using social media.

PARENTZONE
A website of experts in digital family life, who provide support and information to parents, children and schools, working globally to help families to navigate the internet safely and confidently.  They work with parents, schools, governments and businesses to study, understand and address the impact of emerging technologies on young people.  They developed Ollee, a virtual friend, aimed at 8-11 years olds and their parents, to help them talk about difficult subjects.  It was funded by BBC Children in Need’s ‘A Million and Me’ programme.

ceop.police.uk
Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) is a police agency tackling child abuse on the internet. This website includes a facility that enables parents and young people to make reports of actual or attempted abuse online.
