Raising Aspirations
At Brookwood, we want our curriculum to be aspirational and ensure children have opportunities to bring their learning to life. Each year, we hold a Raising Aspirations Week in July. During the week, we invite inspirational speakers and a range of local professionals to deliver aspirational assemblies about their chosen careers, hands on workshops and give children opportunities for questions and answers. In addition, this is an opportunity for parents and staff to share their skills.
The main aims of the week are to:
1. To raise the profile of personal qualities such as resilience, team work, determination, focus and drive.
2. To encourage children to think about how they will contribute to their local and wider community when they are older - both through paid and voluntary work
3. Celebrate and share skills and talents amongst the school and wider community
4. Inspiring children to be the best they can be
