Our new nursery opens September 2025!

We are delighted to confirm that we have secured funding to open our new nursery and will therefore be able to welcome our youngest learners to our new teacher-led early years provision from September 2025.  The funding will enable us to implement exciting internal and external plans for our nursery to provide a welcoming, well-equipped space where children aged 2-4 can play, explore and develop essential early skills in a nurturing and supportive environment.

About our nursery

Our nursery will provide flexible, high-quality early years education tailored to meet the needs of local families. It will offer:

  • Spaces for 2, 3 and 4 year olds daily from 8:40am to 3:10pm
  • teacher-led curriculum, with qualified teaching staff, following the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring a balanced approach to play-based and structured learning
  • A focus on indoor and outdoor classroom experiences, fostering curiosity, confidence and independence
  • Potential for wraparound and holiday care once the nursery is full, and subject to parental demand.

How can I find out more

More information about our nursery will be available shortly. We will also be hosting an information event for interested families in the summer term. This event will be a great opportunity for families to meet our nursery team and find out more about our provision and development plans.

Keep an eye on this website and our social media channels for updates!

Our nursery experience – early years adventures

RainbowEvery day at Brookwood is filled with curiosity, creativity and care. We believe that children learn best through play, exploration and meaningful experiences, guided by our experienced nursery team.

Our curriculum

Within our nursery we will follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, placing children at the centre of their learning journey. Our curriculum has been designed to spark curiosity and develop independence by focusing on the seven areas of early years learning:

  • Personal, social & emotional development – Building confidence, empathy and strong relationships
  • Communication & language – Encouraging conversation, listening and vocabulary through stories, songs and play
  • Physical development – Supporting active bodies through indoor and outdoor play, fine motor activities and healthy routines
  • Literacy & mathematics – Early mark-making, number play, pattern recognition and fostering a love of books
  • Understanding the world – Learning about nature, community, celebrations and the world around us
  • Expressive arts & design – Creative exploration through painting, music, role-play and construction

Learning through experiences

Our days are carefully planned but most importantly full of fun experiences. Children might:

  • Explore our garden and outdoor play areas
  • Cook, plant or build as part of hands-on projects
  • Discover new books in our cosy reading corners
  • Engage in themed days or celebrations from around the world
  • Take part in music, movement and mindfulness sessions

Above all our team will ensure that children feel safe, valued and ready to learn, working closely with families to support each child’s individual needs and celebrate every step of their development.

Our nursery uniform

FlowerTo help children feel a strong sense of belonging and to gently prepare them for school life, we ask that they wear our nursery uniform.

Children are asked to wear gold polo shirts and green sweatshirts along with black jogging bottoms and sensible black footwear.

Our Brookwood logo yellow polo shirts and green sweatshirts are available for purchase from Valentino’s (http://valentinoschoolwear.com/) in Knaphill, but alternatives without the logo can be bought from other stores if you wish.

We also hold second-hand uniform at the school office as a great way to pick up good-quality items at a lower cost. .

Please remember to label all clothing and personal items clearly with your child’s name – it helps us make sure everything finds its way back to the right place!
