✨📚 World Book Day at Brookwood Primary School and Nursery 📚✨ Our celebrations are in full swing and what a magical journey it’s been already! Monday saw our pupils step into the wonderful world of books as they visited classrooms across their key stages. Teachers shared one of their favourite storybooks, passing on their love of reading and inspiring the next generation of book lovers. 💫 Following each story, pupils took part in a meaningful activity inspired by the book, deepening their understanding and bringing the stories to life through discussion, creativity and thoughtful reflection. 📖✨ Tuesday & Wednesday bring our Reading Buddies together! From our youngest learners in Nursery to our fantastic role models in Year 6, pupils are visiting one another’s classrooms, gathering in the library or outside in the spring sunshine to share stories and celebrate the joy of reading together. ❤️📖 Thursday is World Book Day! 🎉 Pupils are invited to come to school: ✨ Dressed as a favourite book character ✨ In cosy pyjamas with a bedtime story ✨ Or in their school uniform It will be a day immersed in reading, imagination and creativity — including our ever-popular Classroom Door Decorating, where each classroom door transforms into a book cover! 🚪📚 And the excitement doesn’t end there… On Monday 9th March, we are thrilled to welcome author and illustrator Sean Perkins to our school! He will be sharing his wonderful stories and artwork with the children, including his book Oscar and Ben: The Sleepover. 🎨📖 It’s a week (and more!) filled with stories, creativity and a love of reading. #WorldBookDay

100 Days of School in Reception 💚 Willow Class had a fantastic time celebrating 100 days of learning! A highlight of the day was using our outdoor area to create 10 groups of 10 to show 100 in a practical way. We collected 10 tyres, 10 wellie boots, 10 cubes, 10 bricks, 10 crates, 10 dinosaurs, 10 pieces of chalk, 10 walking stilts, 10 rubber ducks and even a Numicon showing 10 — working together to make 100 in lots of creative ways. We LOVED designing our crowns using 100 stickers, making the number 100 from playdough, dotting paint 100 times and discovering what we could build using 100 cups.
